The successful candidate will serve as the catalyst in integrating the art collections and exhibitions with the academic curriculum by working with faculty and students in a variety of disciplines. Key responsibilities include becoming knowledgeable about the Museum's collection, exhibition programs, and the College's curriculum; actively encouraging faculty and students to utilize the museum's collections and exhibitions in teaching and learning, serving as a conduit for information about collection needs and growth; team-teaching or contributing to courses in various departments and programs. This full-time, three-year position is made possible through a generous grant from the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation. The Coordinator will report to the museum's director and will work closely in all projects with the curator and curatorial assistant. Desired Qualifications: Candidates for the position should be highly energetic, creative, visionary individuals with the capacity to work effectively in a collaborative team setting, and with faculty members in all disciplines. An advanced degree in art history is required (Ph.D preferred) plus a minimum of 2-4 years of museum experience, preferably in an academic museum. Necessary skills include a broad-based knowledge of art history; a familiarity with multidisciplinary approaches to learning within a liberal arts curriculum; a solid understanding of object-based learning methods; familiarity with scholarly methodologies and theoretical concepts; demonstrated scholarly interests and accomplishments; technological capabilities; and strong organizational and communication skills.
