Personal Statement:
I am looking for an entry-level, permanent position in the museum industry, preferrably in archives, that will allow room for advancement and increased experience. My goal is to obtain a position that will allow me to grow professionally as well as sate my natural desire to preserve history. Although I do not yet have a lot of experience in the museum industry, I welcome challenge and am very enthusiastic about preserving history and historical artifacts. I love to learn, and I want to learn how I can pass along the importance of history and how museums give the public access to history through historical artifacts.

Bachelor of Arts, American Studies and English, California State University, Fullerton. Fullerton, CA. 2003-2005.
Master of Arts, American Studies, California State University, Fullerton. Fullerton, CA. 2005-2008.

My emphasis in my graduate work was in American women's history, gender, and sexuality. I took two classes in Art: Museum Conservation and Exhibition Design.

Professional Experience:
I have been a volunteer docent for The Glendora Historical Society Museum, located in Glendora, CA since June 2009.

I am also a member of The Glendora Historical Society's Curator's Advisory Council, which assists the curator in managing the museum and developing exhibits.

Applicable Skills:
I am very proficient in using Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, and Adobe Photoshop. I am very organized as well and believe that preservation and documentation are essential to keeping history alive for future generations to enjoy.

Other:
I am a member of The Glendora Historical Society and I have belonged to The American Studies Association and The Western Association of Women Historians. I love to read and my hobbies include photography and writing; I have written two book reviews for a couple of historical organizations in the American Southwest.
