Position Description/Responsiblities: The internationally renowned Center for Creative Photography (CCP) at the University of Arizona seeks an experienced, creative, and effective leader to join the Center, the world's largest archive repository and research center for the study and appreciation of modern American photography that reaches an international audience through an active exhibition and loan program. CCP collections include 100,000 fine prints by over 2,000 artists, 5 million photographic archive objects, oral history and other media materials, and a library of rare books, journals, artists' books and exhibition catalogs. Major Duties include: 1. Negotiate and acquire significant archives, collections and individual works of art; 2. Prepare and curate exhibition programs including layout, interpretation and communication; 3. Collaborate with the Center’s director and staff about the Center's priorities, policies and operations; and play a major role in setting priorities for processing, digitization, preservation and conservation workflows. 4. Work with director and development officer to cultivate support for the Center, including donor relations and fundraising. Desired Qualifications: Minimum Requirements begin with: • Master's degree in art history or related field with specialization in the history of North American photography. • Ten or more years of experience in museums or special collections libraries. At least five years of experience acquiring significant collections, archives, and works of art. Salary: $94,981 annually.
