Position Description/Responsiblities:
The Center for Photography at Woodstock seeks an experienced, motivated, energetic individual to join a small dynamic staff in the full-time position of Education Coordinator.

The Education Coordinator works with staff, interns, and volunteers to plan, promote, and implement CPW’s educational offerings including the Woodstock Photography Workshops & Lecture series, serving as its onsite manager; working with CPW’s director to identify and seek funding and collaborative partnerships for educational programs; implement educational elements pertaining to CPW’s exhibition program, including coordinating artist talks, editing interpretive text; work with visiting artists to build audiences and understanding of their work; identify, cultivate, and expand new audiences for CPW offerings; and with CPW’s director oversee Internship program.

Additionally the Education Coordinator will work with CPW’s director to plan and initialize the expansion of CPW’s educational offerings including workshops, winter/ spring lecture series, panel discussions, book signings, and special events throughout the year in effort to increase the depth and engagement of CPW’s programs.

Founded in 1977, the Center for Photography at Woodstock is located in Woodstock, NY, and is a core institution within the growing arts community in the extended Hudson Valley. A not-for-profit, artist-centered organization dedicated to supporting artists working in photography and related media and engaging audiences through opportunities in which creation, discovery, and education are made possible. CPW serves as a bridge, connecting artists to artists, educators to students, readers to writers, curators to artists, and audiences to all.

MOST IMPORTANT CRITERIA FOR SUCCESSFUL JOB PERFORMANCE: A sincere passion for education and outreach. A desire to both plan and implement high quality innovative programming to a wide and diverse public. A strong interest in working with artists and their audiences.

Desired Qualifications:
REQUIREMENTS:
• BA/MA or BFA/MFA – Art or Education-related major.
• 2-3 years experience in planning and/or implementing educational programming.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills;
• Pays attention to detail, thorough, and accurate;
• Strong project management skills, able to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines;
• Strong knowledge of history of historic & contemporary photography and digital media;
• Strong knowledgeable about and/or skilled in Digital Imaging/Printing and traditional Film Photography.
• Not-for-profit organizational experience, a plus.
• Proficient in both MAC and Windows platforms.

Salary: $30,000 & health benefits
Schedule: 5 days a week (schedule shifts during summer/fall workshop season)
