Position Description/Responsiblities:
The Washington County Museum seeks a qualified outreach educator to make offsite presentations of the Museum’s Mobile Museum program; potentially including our Braceros and Native American curriculum, and to deliver occasional programs at the Museum.

This is a part time, hourly position from 5-15 hours/week.

Principal Responsibilities:
- Research and expand personal knowledge of curriculum materials
- Travel to schools and community centers
- Deliver Mobile Museum presentations in accordance with Washington County Museum’s curriculum
- Maintain and store outreach materials between presentations
- Represent the Museum through professional demeanor
- Seek interactive relationships with schools and community groups
- Meet monthly with the Education Coordinator

Desired Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Prior teaching experience in schools or informal learning settings
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to adjust to changing situations with grace
- Ability to commit to a flexible work schedule, including occasional nights and weekends
- Reliable transportation
- Ability to life 25-30 lbs and arrange classroom furniture
- Must pass background check

Desired Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Education, History, Museum Education or a related field
- Cultural knowledge of diverse populations in Oregon
- Spanish language skills
