Personal Statement:
My goal as a museum educator is to bring history into classrooms and continue the museum experience for patrons outside of the museum by engaging them in educational activities. Using my specialization in women's history I hope to empower the lives of women by reconnecting them with their history.

Responsibilities: While working in the Museum Studies program I am in charge of XL Project’s gallery attendants, ordering museum supplies, creating classroom handouts and powerpoints, creating labels for the Design Gallery and XL Projects, and general exhibit installation.

During my internship with the historical society I was expected to enhance my knowledge of archiving, research, exhibition, and interpretation. My largest contribution to the museum was in the renovation of the works on paper archival room. In addition, I also worked with the Collections Manager and Curator in completing research requests. I also created an exhibit for the museum entitled “Victorian Etiquette and Social Customs” that focused primarily on the lives of Victorian women. I also helped construct two exhibits with the curator; one on women’s shoes and the other on paper making in the North Country.

Responsibilities: I took part in an archaeological survey that tested for cultural and historical resources that may impede on the water district’s plans to put in a water main. I helped dig and analyze the findings, as well as clean and catalog the artifacts found.

Responsibilities: I was expected to help the special education teachers monitor and teach the toddler and preschool age children affected with Autism, Down’s syndrome, and various other disabilities.
