Position Description/Responsiblities:
Responsible for the design, fabrication and coordination of exhibitions for display at the Museum. Prepares gallery space for exhibition, and oversees exhibit interns and volunteers.
Develops and implements an exhibition plan; develops exhibitions, including exhibitions from the museum’s collection. Creates, fabricates and coordinates design, production and on-going operation of changing exhibitions and interactive program components. Prepares budget reports for projects; participates in grant-writing and other tasks to support projects and events. Works closely with staff to maintain and strengthen museum policies and procedures related to exhibits in keeping with museum standards as articulated by the Accreditation Commission of the American Association of Museums. Works closely to coordinate research activities for exhibit topics with volunteer research team where possible, as well as serving as community liaison for projects that entail collaboration with other community groups. Performs other related duties as assigned. May be required to work some weekends and holidays.

Desired Qualifications:
EDUCATION-MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s Degree in History, Art, Social Sciences, Museum Arts or other related fields. Advanced degree in Museum Studies preferred.

EXPERIENCE-MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
3 years experience in museum exhibit construction;
Experience working in a small museum setting helpful;
Supervision experience; experience and familiarity with digital scanning technology and copyright laws;
Experience with hand and power tools.
