Position Description/Responsiblities:
The Children’s Museum Program Coordinator is responsible for planning and executing educational programs for the Children’s museum. This includes Coordination and engagement of program presenters, evaluation of potential programs, and scheduling of programs. The coordinator also develops in-house programs to compliment the Children’s Museum’s exhibits while responding to the needs and desires of the community with relation to program offerings. The program coordinator will facilitate meetings between the Children’s Museum team and other Center teams with the objective of knowledge sharing and collaborative integration work. They will also liaise with the Center’s school programs coordinator to develop school visitation programs that meet the requirements of the Children’s Museum within the available resources of the Center as a whole. They will also be responsible for the development of Institutional partnerships and management of the Children’s Museum’s Institutional memberships.

Desired Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree - Preferably a Masters degree in, Early Childhood Education, Museum Education, Museum Studies or similar field.
A teaching certification for K-12 school is preferred as is experience coordinating programs for a children’s museum or other child-focused enrichment institution.
You will need to have extensive experience with program development, coordination and integration within cultural institutions. Strong organizational and communications skills, strong computer literacy and the aptitude for being a confident self-starter are also necessary.
