Dear all,

I hope some of you will be able to help and will find this interesting and useful for your organisation.

In addition to working for All About Audiences, the audience development agency for the North West of England, I am currently studying for an MA in Social Media at the University of Salford. For my course I am now in the process of undertaking my thesis - the subject matter of which is the use of social networks for audience development in museums.

As part of this I am conducting an online survey about this subject. Therefore if you represent a museum in the UK and could take a few minutes to fill in my survey at CREATING A MUSEUM WITHOUT WALLS? THE ROLE OF SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES IN AUDIENCE DEVELOPMENT I would be very grateful. Don't worry if your organisation isn't active on social networking sites my research is also trying to establish this as well.

Also if you could pass the link on to any of your peers working within the UK museum sector it would be a great help. If you require any other details then please do not hesitate to email me at b.hunter@pgt.salford.ac.uk.

I hope the data from this research will provide useful findings for those working in the museum sector and will be happy to share an overview of the outcomes later this year.

All the best, B
