Dallas Contemporary seeks a career-minded individual to assist and support education programs such as Art Thinkers Days, Teen Nites, and Inside Art Series. Candidates should be art or education majors looking for programming experience in a nonprofit setting. <br />
<br />
<br />
Project manager of education programs including training volunteers, ordering supplies, maintaining a budget and timeline.<br />
<br />
<br />
Work with students, teachers, artists, community centers &amp; art professionals to develop partnerships and programs.<br />
<br />
<br />
Assist with multimedia awareness materials, specifically press releases, e-mail alerts, and education reports.<br />
<br />
<br />
Develop strategies for future education programs.<br />
<br />
<br />
Assist with administrative duties including answering phones, greeting visitors, and the unknowns.<br />
<br />
<font color="black">Desired Qualifications:</font> <br />
The Education Programs Internship is a collaborative, hands-on position that requires strong writing, research and communication skills, resourcefulness, and ability to multitask in a small nonprofit environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required. Knowledge of contemporary art and/or experience working in a museum setting is desirable.<br />

POSITION TITLE:  Intern (1 opening)   <br />

LOCATION: Sam Rayburn House Museum, 890 W. State Hwy 56, Bonham, Texas.  <br />

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES: Interns may work on one or more of the following projects: cataloging and researching the museum collection, taking digital photographs of artifacts; recording oral histories; re-housing and cleaning artifacts; data entry of collections records; assisting with guided tours of the house museum; assist with inventory of collection; assist in the development of events and programming at the site as well as developing themed  guided tours and presentations; and organizing site resources.<br />
<br />
<font color="black">Desired Qualifications:</font> <br />
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:  Interest in museums, history, and/or education.  Strong writing, research and communications skills.  Strong organizational, multitasking and people skills.  Knowledge of American and Texas history.  Knowledge of standard office computer skills, including database software and word processing.  Ability to work independently and on detailed tasks.  Degree or expected degree in history, education, museum studies, humanities or a related field.  Demonstrated interest in museum programs, education and/or history.  <br />
