Curator Salaries

A few questions for the board...

1.) What are salaries like for museum curators and assistant curators? Do salaries vary with experience or more by level? (e.g. curator, assistant curator, etc.)

2.) How does this vary between big cities like NYC and Boston and smaller cities?

3.) How does this vary between big museums like the Met or smaller museums or historical societies?

4.) Does this job require a PHD? Is something like a MFA acceptable as well?
