Professional Experience: Volunteer and Internship Coordinator for the Children’s Discovery Museum of the Desert • Recruit, train and create volunteer opportunities for Junior Docent and Docents in the museum. This past summer, recruited 130 teen volunteer and 50 adults (total managed 180 with existing volunteer pool) in 30 days; scheduled and managed all the volunteers for a 90 day summer camp - incremented volunteer participation 400% this year versus 2007( new milestone in the history of the museum volunteering); created the internship program for 11 College students; designed a project for the internship to increment sales of merchandise at the museum store and exhibits; developed the “Green” program for the Teen advisory Council and created staff/internship opportunities. Crossed trained in all areas of the Museum for effective management from Museum Store, Front Desk, Gallery, inventory control, develop study programs and create community relationships. Record keeping of volunteer hours and creating monthly reports for Museum and Board of Directors. Establish relationship with teen volunteer programs in the Coachella Valley. Introduce sponsors and create relationship with organizations and companies in the area, to aid in the fundraising effort of CDMOD.
