Personal Statement:
My name is Genevieve Stockburger and I am a Graduate candidate in the Museum Science program at Texas Tech University. I am currently working as an intern at the Silent Wings Museum in Lubbock, Texas. I have nearly 2 years of museum experience, specifically with collections and am seeking employment at the end of my internship in July 2011.

Education:
I have a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology from Texas Tech University and will be graduating with my Masters in Arts in Museum Science from Texas Tech in August 2011. Through the pursuit of my degree I have gained extensive experience in collections management and organization. I have experience with the essential aspects of exhibit design and interpretation. Also through my studies I have gained experience in organizational skills and policy writing, which has also provided me with a firm grasp of the mechanisms behind good writing skills and conducting thorough research.

Professional Experience:
I have extensive experience in database entry due to my position in the Museum of Texas Tech University Anthropology Division. As I have maintained this position for the past year, I have become very familiar with accessions, cataloging, and object labeling. During my internship at the Silent Wings Museum I have become more familiar with database management and collection organization. Also, during my internship I am participating in designing and installing a temporary exhibit.

Applicable Skills:
Through the positions I have held I have developed a firm understanding of database software programs such as FilemakerPro and PastPerfect. Also through my experience I have gained an understanding of software programs such as InDesign, Photoshop, and Sketchup. I can operate PC and MAC proficiently, and have experience with several Microsoft office programs, including Word, Excell, Publisher, and Powerpoint.

Other:
I have epxerience in digital and film based photography. I have particiapted in photoshoots involving indoor and outdoor conditions. I also participate in the MHSA (Museum and Heritage Students Association), through which I have attended conferences and participated in other volunteer opportunities.
