This position is within the Collection Services Division, reports to the Head Registrar, and works closely with the Curatorial, Conservation, Collection Management, and Exhibition Planning Departments. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of outgoing loan requests including managing requests and approvals process, and determining requirements, needs, and associated loan costs. Manage all aspects of approved outgoing loans including communicating with borrower, packing, shipping, installation, insurance, etc. Manage and coordinate all outgoing loan preparation activities and insure fulfillment of loan agreement terms. Coordinate incoming loans for changing exhibitions under Associate Registrar for Exhibitions’ direction. Assist with the coordination, receipt, (un)packing, and preparation of Condition Reports for changing exhibitions during installations and deinstallations. Assist with condition reports, packing and shipping for PEM’s traveling exhibitions as assigned. Assist Head Registrar and Director of Exhibition Planning with paperwork and other support of changing / traveling exhibition projects as directed. Collaborate intra-and interdepartmentally with Collection Services and curatorial staff on exhibition and loan projects. Desired Qualifications: A Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Art History, Museum Studies or closely related field is required; completion of graduate program in Museum Studies preferred. Three years of professional museum collections management, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Art museum experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of current registration principles and practices for loans, changing and traveling exhibitions. Strength and skill in handling, moving, and packing fragile works of art required. Strong interpersonal, planning, and organizational skills; excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to manage several projects simultaneously. Must be accurate and detail-oriented. Excellent computer skills. Argus collections management database experience highly desirable.
