Dear fellows,
It's Moody Tang from Hong Kong Maritime Museum. Our museum has been already opened for 3.5 years and have planned to bar-code the entire collection. But since I joined in 2007, nothing has been done so far. It's because the limited manpower and I don't know where to start. As we are preparing to move to a far bigger new home downtown, my boss urges me to start the bar-coding as soon as possible. The issue has been already discussed for 4 years and my boss is not patient anymore. We recently bought a bottle of Acryloid B72 100% Resin for coaling surface of the object in order to putting on the label. But our collections are in various shapes & materials. I am not sure the B72 is applicable to wood (ship models, status and frames). But the most 'problematic' problem is the PastPerfect can only print bar-codes but not for scanning. Even I finished all printing and labelling but the system does not have such funcion for inventory. ![]() Is here any experts on barcoding? I am happy to share experience in short future. Cheers, Moody T. |
