The Fort Sam Houston Museum presents the history of Fort sam Houston from 1845 to the present. Situated on a major (and growing) active US Army installation with the largest collection of historic structures (800+) in the Department of Defense, the Fort Sam Houston Museum traces the growth of the original Post at San Antonio through its growth and development into the home of military medicine and host to several major command headquarters. Exhibits focus on the physical growth of the installation, the significant events which transpired here and the distinguished units and individuals which have served here. Intended for military audience but suitable for families.
